Bridal Hair Trends for 2018
You’ve sorted the venue, the caterers, the music, the dress … now it’s time to decide how you want to wear your hair for the big day.
Modern Bohemian: Lately, we’ve seen a rise in brides wearing their hair loose, flowing and textured. This effortless look works for both long and short hair – textured lobs are a huge trend right now. Soft waves can be complimented with final touches like skinny crown braids or flower crowns to up the wow-factor. This look is all about keeping things a little bit undone, but still polished. It’s the perfect compliment to a softer dresses with a bohemian vibe.
Sleek and Simple: If your dress is going to be the star of the show (think princess style, multiple layers or a dress with maximum embellishment) keep your hair simple so as not to compete. A low bun or a sleek ponytail works perfectly in this scenario. If you’re a fan of details, try a white floral hairpiece as a finishing touch.
Undone Up-styles: Traditionally, brides have opted for a sleek chignon or structured up-styles. This year, coinciding with the rise of non-traditional wedding dresses, we’re seeing a trend towards looser, laid back and more effortless up-styles. To perfect this look, leave things looking a bit wispy, a bit undone, a bit ‘almost falling out but not actually’.
Floral: Working fresh flowers into your wedding hair is one of the hottest bridal looks of 2017 -18 and perfect for a summer wedding. To nail the look, use flowers match your bouquet and incorporate them into a messy up-style (tiny flowers look incredible woven into a braid) or a flower crown.
